What This Scorecard Does

The Dividend Stock Scorecard is a quick, structured way to evaluate a dividend stock before you buy it. Instead of relying on a single number like yield or price, it scores 10 different quality factors — payout sustainability, cash flow, dividend growth history, earnings stability, debt, valuation, and more — and combines them into one overall score out of 20. That total gives you a fast read on whether a stock looks strong, mixed, or weak, so you know whether it's worth researching further.

How to Use It

  1. Pick one dividend stock you're currently researching or already own.
  2. Go through each of the 10 questions and rate it honestly: 0 for poor, 1 for fair, 2 for excellent, based on what you know from the company's financials and dividend history.
  3. Watch your total score and verdict update automatically as you answer.
  4. Use the score guide below the questions to interpret the result — a low score is a signal to dig deeper or reconsider, not necessarily a hard "no."
  5. Click "Reset Scorecard" to score a different stock, and repeat the process for each company you're comparing.
